Benefit Rockateur Blush Review, Swatches and FOTDWednesday, February 26, 2014
Benefit took the makeup world by storm last year when they launched their new blush. Benefit Rockateur Blush is described as "Rose Gold" and retails for 28$ for 5g! The moment it was launched I knew I had to get my hands on it and finally last year in Dec Mr D picked it up for me and I have been using it non stop ever since!
How cute and adorable is the packaging..right! It just cannot get better than this at least not in my opinion! It comes in gorgeous box packaging of pink, gold and black and definitely an eye catcher! The box has a tiny mirror and a brush which works perfectly and comes in handy while traveling. The words ROCK are engraved in the middle of the blush which is so pretty! Benefit Rockateur is my first powder blush from the brand and I am truly impressed. I know Coralista Blush is a cult favorite but when it comes to everyday wear shades I have a soft spot for blushes which give a natural flush to the cheeks and have undertones of mauve. Benefit Rockateur blush has perfect mix of pink, peach, mauve and little bit of brown giving the most natural glow to the cheeks.
The texture is finely milled and blends effortlessly on cheeks. It comes with a brush which to be honest is quite nice and picks up just the right amount of product. The pigmentation is quite sheer which is one of the reason why this blush got quite a mixed response. From most of the reviews I saw online before purchasing the blush mentioned that it will not show up on medium to tan skin tones! But I am NC40-42 in MAC and it does show up on me pretty well, I use couple of layers and it gives a natural flush to the cheeks. I feel the blush will suit medium/olive/tan skin tones below NC44 beautifully especially if you have strong yellow undertones!
When you first open the blush you will notice there are two sections the middle section is matte whereas the side ones have fine shimmer. Don't get scared as the shimmers are only on the top layer and again are not OTT. The blush has satin finish and gives a very pretty glow to the cheeks without using any highlighters. The blush lasts for about 6 hours on me after which it starts to fade however it does not emphasize any imperfections or pores on the skin.
The blush does have a very sweet powdery fragrance which I am not a big fan of so if you have a sensitive nose you might want to smell the blush before buying :D Over all this has become one of my favorite blush of all time in category of everyday wear shades and I will highly recommend it to everyone!
